WE'RE GOING BACK TO OUR ROOTS
We’re returning NC+ to the West. Who we are. Where we’ve come from. What we stand for. As part of that action, we’re re-introducing the NC+ system for numbering corn hybrids. We’ve gone into the archives. We’ve spoken with past NC+ product managers and salesmen. The result is the number system NC+ was built on. To be clear: the existing, consistent-performing hybrids and varieties you know will not change. But from this point forward, we’re going back to the roots of NC+.
Here are the maturity ranges for our new hybrid numbering system:
1001-1999: RM 93 and below
2000-2999: RM 94-97
3000-3999: RM 98-101
4000-4999: RM 102-105
5000-5999: RM 106-109
6000-6999: RM 110-113
7000-7999: RM 114-117
8000-8999: RM 118 and above
Impressive top end yield, with a strong back-bone of stress tolerance led by root strength, very low greensnap risk, and Goss’ Wilt defense. The semi-determined ear is blocky with good kernel count that can produce under more stressed conditions, at the same time able to yield at the top end with increased seeding rates. A moderate plant height and stature assists the stalk strength, late standability while lowering greensnap risk. With that size will want to use caution on light, sandy soils, high pH soils and steep slopes.

A very offensive hybrid with great dual-purpose potential from Nebraska to Texas. 6303 is a Medium-Tall plant with wider leaves for quicker canopy. Consistent girthy ears up and down the row over multiple locations brings the yield. Good silage data with a dense canopy and plant size. Nice staygreen into the fall for an extended silage harvest window, and grain harvest. 6303 responds to additional population and management.

A staple of our full season offering. Defensive to all purpose to strong yield environments. Heat and drought tolerance lead the agronomic package that performs in tougher, moderate yield environments. Ear type and total kernel count gives it good competitive yield in Iowa and Illinois. Strong in moderate planting rates, with deep kernel flex that responds to foliar fungicide. The plant size is built for rolling, variable farms with size to roll up steeper slopes, take higher pH hillsides and still bring home yield.

A real rough and tumble hybrid with strong yield potential, that excels on high pH soils. 6499 is Medium stature with very good stalk strength and little greensnap risk. Very consistent ears down the row with nice grain quality and test weight. The Goss Wilt tolerance and disease package enhance the performance from Nebraska running south. The long husks and grain quality slow drydown, but it stands very well through the fall. Very stable across years and soils, with easy harvestability, and as a companion with 11-15 and 14-88.

Widely adapted as all purpose to offensive position, plant confidently with strong early vigor through canopy. Moderate plant size with a fairly narrow frame and erect leaf angle. Stalks will give you strength all season, low greensnap risk, and solid plant integrity with a more compact plant later in the season. Good ear flex in rows around the ear for higher kernel count, contributes to the yield potential. 12-06s flex allows planting at a wide ranges of seeding rates, while responding well to higher management, including foliar fungicide and irrigation.

Outstanding yield performance. A hybrid that is quite adaptable, though would place in above average to high yield environments for the greatest return on your investment. Overall stalk health is very good, with late season staygreen and plant intactness. The moderate plant height helps assist the late season standability. Emergence is above average with very good uniformity and stand establishment. In the west, we would recommend keeping it on irrigated acres for the yield potential. The flex ear allows moderate seeding rates and great response to variable rate seeding. Plant it and hold on to your hat!

NEW BEANS THAT MAY RING A BELL
We’re taking soybeans back to a familiar place as well. We’re re-introducing the NC+ system for numbering soybean varieties. The existing, consistent-performing varieties you know will not change. But from this point forward, new varieties will feature the trait initial after the maturity number. It's all part of an effort to return to the NC+ you remember.
F2252 made substantial gains in Sudden Death Sydrome, Iron Deficiency Chlorosis and Sclerotinia White Mold field tolerance. Defensive traits are resistance for Soybean Cyst Nematodes, Stem Canker and phytophthora (Rps 1c). This Medium-Tall variety offers very good standability with an excellent branching tendency. Drought tested and proven during three years of field trials. A deep green and healthy canopy throughout the growing season. F2252 has an upright branching characteristic with very good standability at harvest.
